Get to Know Sam Stout

Sam Stout comes from a family of racers, the Stout name has been successful in Supermodifieds for decades. Sam and his brother, Sawyer, are carrying on the family legacy and wearing (mostly) the famed Stout orange.

How did you get involved in racing?

My family’s been racing for well over 50 years so I was bound to get involved eventually

How long have you been racing?  Why did you choose the number you race?

20 years, I chose 49 because it’s our family’s number, I used to run my own number but about 6 years ago I decided to run the family number

What’s your favorite race track you’ve raced on?

I’d have to say Sandusky speedway or Mt. Lawn in New Castle Indiana

What kind of hobbies outside of the racecar do you have?

Racing’s my life, if I’m not racing you’ll for sure be able to find me at a race track, or with my family

What’s your favorite racing memory?

So far winning the 2021 Renegade Rumble after almost winning it the 2 years prior

What are your plans for 2025?

Race as much as my schedule allows, hopefully pick up a feature win finally in a modified

What is your greatest accomplishment in racing?

So far 2021 Modified Rookie of the Year.

Anyone you want to thank for getting you here?

My family, my amazing wife, my friends. Without my family there’d be no way I’d be where I am today

What is your favorite type of racecar you’ve ever driven?

Probably a 350 Super even though it was short lived that night

What are your long term goals in racing?

Win races and hopefully get a Championship, my dad has 9 supermodified Championships and I’d like to add my own

Favorite current NASCAR Driver?

Christopher Bell

Did you have any racing heroes growing up?

All of my family’s drivers have been
