He may not have won a feature in 2024 but Brandon Lemmerman took a big step forward in terms of being a regular contender in the Modifieds at Lorain Raceway Park. Now, refreshed for 2025 and with newborn son Ryker joining the pit crew, Lemmerman looks poised to take the #64 to the front in 2025.
How did you get involved in racing?
My family. My uncle Jim Blagg started racing when I was little and we were always going to the track watching almost every weekend. My dad was also on Randy Burch’s Modified and Supermodified crew for many years. Then as I got older I started going to the track to help my cousin ( Chad Lemmerman, Jeffrey Fade Jr and Lindsey Lemmerman Fade).
How long have you been racing? Why did you choose the number you race?
I have been racing for 9 years (2 years in go-karts and 7 in the modified). I choose the #64 because when I started racing I was sharing a shop with my cousins. Their numbers were 31 and 33, so I just decided to add the two together. Plus the #64 wasn’t a real popular number and I wanted to be different.
What’s your favorite race track you’ve raced on?
Angola Motorsports Speedway went there this year and had an amazing time. But my favorite Ohio track has to be Norton Raceway Park in Barberton.

What kind of hobbies outside of the racecar do you have?
Playing softball, bowling and camping
Do you have a workout plan that you follow to keep yourself in top shape for race day?
Not necessarily. I do work out every day during the week at lunch time. But I just try not to eat horrible
Did you have any racing heroes growing up?
Jim Blagg, Randy Burch, Jeffrey Fade Jr and Chad Lemmerman.

What’s your favorite racing memory?
There are so many to choose from. But one happened this year to start the year out. After getting a new car and running 2nd opening night to one of my good buddies Spencer Stineman. But there is one more favorite memory which was also this past summer. Labor Day weekend we packed up the camper and trailer and drove to Owosso Michigan to help one of my best friends Charlie Schultz run his 410 sprint car on Saturday then on Sunday on our way home we went to Angola (Indiana) and I raced it was such a great time traveling running well and having a great time with friends.
Do you have any racers that you are close friends with?
Charlie Schultz, Bobby Sibla, Chad Lemmerman, Jeffrey Fade Jr, Spencer Stineman, Zack Miller, and Will Yuravak.
Do you have any raceday rituals or superstitions?
Pancakes for breakfast. And no Peanuts or anything green on race day.

What are your plans for 2025?
Gonna run the mod again for 2025 might not run every single week but definitely gonna hit a few bigger shows. Definitely gonna make a trip back to angola and gonna try and make a race at Owosso this year
Anyone you want to thank for getting you here?
There is so many people I have to thank and I hope I don’t miss anyone. First I have to thank my girlfriend Jamie for putting up with my addiction every single week as she totes Ryker and River around. My best friend Timothy Nemeth for being there whenever we need him. My mom Kim Lemmerman for letting me steal dad all summer long and for watching little man while we are out in the garage. And last but not least is my father, Gene Lemmerman. He has been there since day one putting in all the blood sweat and tear into is right along with me week in and week out without these people right here I couldn’t do it weekly.
I also have to thank all of my sponsors. Gym Sports Services, JT Parts Shop, Columbia Station Eagles Club, CK Concrete, Dynamic Collison, Sandusky Speedway Graphics & Trophies, Monster Motors, Zone Safety, TS Photography, Dunn/Rite Die & Stamping, Backyard Redneck. Without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I love.
What are your long term goals in racing?
Win a feature. Been really close a few times really want to get that monkey off our back.
