Lorain Raceway Park hosted the Annual Open Wheel Shootout (formerly Super Crown Nationals) which included the Outlaw 350 Supermodified Sprint Series, Must See Midwest Lights Sprint Cars, Mighty TQ Midgets and the Sliman’s of Amherst Modifieds all taking to the ⅜ mile.

Supermodified Legend Denny Fisher led the field to the green flag for the Outlaw 350 Supermodified Sprint Series Todd Gibson Memorial 30 lap Feature event. Fisher would take off and not look back as the #81 sped to victory for the first time in 2025. AJ Lesiecki was able to race from 7th to finish second followed by Kevin Mingus (3rd), Danny Shirey, who won the season opener at Sandusky last week finished 4th followed by JJ Henes, subbing for Sawyer Stout, in fifth. Shirey picked up the Fast Dash win while Clayton Karl and Kevin Mingus took the Heat Race victories.

The Must See Racing Midwest Lights raced a pair of 20 lap feature events with Andrew Bogusz and JJ Henes each taking checkered flags. Bogusz picked up the first feature win over Henes (2nd) and Charlie Baur (3rd). Henes was victorious in the second feature over Charlie Schultz (2nd) and Keegan Weese (3rd). Both 20 lap features went green to checkered without a caution flag.

The Mighty TQ Midgets headed west towards Lorain Raceway Park and for Mason Hansel it was a clean sweep of the twin features. Charlie Schultz (2nd) and Josh Patterson (3rd) followed Hansel in Feature #1, while Vinnie Christiano, III (2nd) and Josh Patterson (3rd) completed the podium in Feature #2. Nick Groff and Mason Hansel picked up the Heat victories.

The Sliman’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Amherst Modifieds hit the track for 30 laps of action. Steven Drew and Terry Groner led the field to the green flag for 30 laps of action. Drew jumped to the lead early and held it for 18 laps before being overtaken by Zack Miller, who battled with Nathan Embree and held the lead until three laps to go when Spencer Stineman charged to the lead with a miraculous three wide pass. Stineman went on to be victorious from the 14th starting position. Stineman would take the victory, his first of 2025 at Lorain, Zack Miller held on to finish second, Nathan Embree (3rd) Jeremy Menninger (4th) and TJ Stineman (5th) completed the top five. Kurt Hennings, Steven Drew and Bubba Smith won the Heat Races.

Lorain Raceway Park returns to action on June 20th and 21st for the Jackpot Nationals at The County. The Compacts will join the Sliman’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Amherst Modifieds for the two day show, while the Perfection Fabricators Grand Nationals and Factory Stocks will join the program on Friday, June 20th.
