(SANDUSKY, OH) Coming into the Hy-Miler Nationals at Sandusky Speedway, the Medina Upfot Great Lakes Truck Tour had seen two winners in four races. Brad Copen won the opening two rounds (Lorain and Painesville) and the most recent event (Midvale), while Jeff Fade, Jr. scored the victory at Lake Erie to kick off the month of July. When the tour reached Sandusky, it reached new heights as thirteen trucks signed in for the 35 lap feature event.

Three time Race Winner Brad Copen turned the fastest lap in Qualifying, while Lake Erie Winner Jeff Fade, Jr. and Jeff Myers, Jr. scored the Heat Race victories.
When it was time to race Glen Jewell started on the pole in the Bob & Carol Devore owned #24. Jeff Myers, Jr. (subbing for Steve Perkins) joined Jewell on the front row for the green flag. Myers was able to get the jump on the start and take the lead. Myers was able to hold the lead until a slight drizzle began to fall from the sky. A quick track drying session and the Medina Upfit Great Lakes Truck Tour was back on track with Myers leading. With the track cooled off from the brief shower, Kenny Sharp (subbing in the #21 for Brandon Huff) was marching through the field, battling past contenders Bailey Delfosse, Jeff Fade, Jr and championship leader Brad Copen on his way to the tailgate of the #4 piloted by Myers, Jr. On lap 27, Kenny Sharp made the race winning pass on Myers, Jr. putting the #21 truck out front.

Sharp was able to open up a comfortable lead in the closing laps to score the win, his first in the Medina Upfit Great Lakes Truck Tour. Brad Copen slipped by Myers for second with Jeff Myers, Jr. coming home third. Jeff Fade, Jr (4th) and Jesse Fischbach (5th) completed the top five finishers.

Brad Copen leads the Championship battle by 42 points over Bailey Delfosse. Brian Taylor sits third in the Championship Standings, 101 points behind Copen. The Medina Upfit Great Lakes Truck Tour is back in action Saturday, August 2nd at Lorain Raceway Park for the Coyote Classic.
