
Jeffrey “Smokey” Fade, 66 from Madison, Ohio received his final checkered flag August 15, 2025 surrounded by family after a short battle in the hospital.
He was a loving father to Jennifer Fade, Jillanne (Jimmy) Dougherty, Jeffrey (Lindsey) Fade Jr and a devoted friend to the mother of his children, Sharon McCarthy. A loving grandfather of Jordan, Kayla (Kimmy), Austin (Karleigh), Lorelei, Peyton and Brystol. A loving brother of Andy Fade and Sandi (Duane) Breedlove. A loving uncle to Nicole (Tim) Rees and great uncle to Ava Rees.
He’s preceded in death by his parents, Veronica and Frank Fade of Madison and his granddaughter, Ciara Rachelle.
Those of you who knew Smokey knew his love and passion for racing. Lorain County Speedway was his home where he was tech official and race director for a long time. A lot of his time revolved around the race track and working alongside his son in the garage building race cars.
The family will receive friends at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, OH., on Sunday, August 24 from 12-4pm. . In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Smokey’s name to the charity of your choice.
