The Hometown Slice Pizza Co. Figure 8 Ironman Classic took to the track Friday night as the headliner for “Throwback Night” at Painesville Speedway. With 25 laps of Figure 8 racing action, it was Kenny Bender, Jr. breaking through to win his first Feature event of the season. Bender, Jr, the defending Hometown Slice Pizza Co. Figure 8 Ironman Champion, has taken a backseat to MJ Reed’s domination of the 2025 season and the father-son duo of Lou Hill, Sr. and Lou Hill, Jr. visiting victory lane. Steven Sandli (2nd), MJ Reed (3rd), Ryan Turner (4th) and John Leonard (5th) completed the top five finishers. With his first win of 2025 in the books, Bender was able to close in on MJ Reed in the Championship battle, Reed now leads by just 28 points. Ryan Turner won the return of the Australian Pursuit. Turner won the Fast Dash while Reed and Leonard won the Heat Races.

Vinny Cicconetti was able to score his third Charger Feature win of the season, Hayden Nails (2nd), Mike Taylor (3rd), Jordan Greathouse (4th) and Jacob Henderson (5th) completed the top five. MIke Taylor scored both the Heat Race win and the victory in the Australian Pursuit.

Sean Davis, Jr. brought home his second Habco Tool Warriors Feature Win of 2025 holding off a strong Kerek Ball (2nd), Gavin Elmore (3rd), Magen March (4th) and last week;s Feature winner Craig Brackman (5th) completed the top five. March scored the Fast Dash victory with Ball taking the Heat Race win and Jason Scharer winning the Australian Pursuit.

The Scooter’s Dawg House Rising Stars spiced it up with a two car battle that saw Leland Scheel take the Feature win over Thomas Winegord. Scheel remains undefeated in Heat and Feature racing in his young racing career.

The Habco Tool Old School Figure 8 hit the track with a competitive battle between the Crown Vics of Eric Lehmann, Lyle Mattson and Chad Tekavic. Lehmann would be victorious in the Feature event over Lyle Mattson (2nd). Chad Tekavic (3rd), Robert Wormald (4th) and Derek Mattson (5th) completed the top five. Tekavic won the Heat Race while Lyle Mattson took the victory in the Australian Pursuit.

The R&Z Auto Recycling Compact Figure 8 wrapped up Thowback Night and it was a familiar face taking the Feature victory, TJ Schinke brought home top honors. Chris Leland (2nd), Autumn Merrill (3rd) and Mikey Oldenburgh (4th) completed the field. Leland won the Heat Race while Autumn Merrill picked up the Australian Pursuit victory.
