The 2025 race season will mark an era, as we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Orrville’s Historic Oval. June 26, 1965, the first green flag flew on the famed 3/8-mile speed plant located in Orrville. 60 years has seen many changes, but one thing stands true, the racing action at WCS will leave you sitting on the edge of your seats!
Weekly racing at WCS will consist of the familiar Fast 5 Racing Event which will feature 410 Sprints, UMP Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Mini Stocks.
The 2025 season will see some familiar series return. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series will make a stop at WCS on three occasions, Monday June 16 “Duffy Smith Memorial” 43rd Annual Sprint Speedweek, a mid-week show on Tuesday August 12 for the “Bob Chaney Memorial”, and then on Sunday August 31 for the $10,000 to win “Pete Jacobs Memorial”.
The speedway will also see a stop for the Buckeye Outlaw (BOSS) Wingless Sprint Cars and FAST on DIRT Sprint Car Series. On Saturday April 12, the BOSS Wingless Sprints will be on hand. The FAST on DIRT Sprint Car Series will be in action on three visits to the historic oval. Celebrate Independence Day on Saturday July 5 when the FAST on Dirt Sprints make their first appearance for the season. FAST second visit of the season will be on Saturday July 26th for the “Rick Susong Memorial”. Their third stop of the season will be on Season Championship Night Saturday August 23.
Two other staples on the WCS schedule that have become popular, can’t miss events is the Summer Nationals Hell Tour stop and the Don/Hans Gross Memorial races! On Sunday, July 13th the DirtCar Summer Nationals Hell Tour will make a stop at WCS highlighting both the super late models and modifieds. This race is one you won’t want to miss if you like seeing the stars of the touring series make a visit to WCS. Last season, we would see Tyler Erb find Wayne County Speedway Summit Racing Equipment victory lane. The Don/Hans Gross Memorial is set for Saturday August 9 where we honor former speedway owner Don Gross and his grandson Hans. 2024 race season would see some of our local hot shoe late model drivers do throwback wraps on their late models. This was a special event that we want to continue for years to come!
The 2025 season will again see the end of Season Blow Out return. Details for the two day weekend will be released at a later date.
There is something special scheduled for each night of racing.
“I’m excited for the 60-year anniversary of WCS” stated Jason Flory, owner/promotor of WCS. “We have put together a very good schedule. 2025 will be one of the best years for the speedway. We have a new marketing team in place, and they are working hard this off season to make each night feel more like a event then just a show. We are still working out some of our promotions and details and we may still add some different types of races/classes this season!”
Schedule is subject to change.
The team of WCS is busy planning and working on our 2024 Season Championship Banquet which is being held January 11, 2025 at the Best Western Pus Hotel & Conference Center in downtown Wooster. For those who eligible and purchased tickets, doors will open at 5pm on the 11th, with dinner at 6pm, and awards starting around 7pm.
