Just when it looked like Mansfield Speedway was gone forever in steps Cleveland native and former NASCAR Cup Series driver Matt Tifft. The news broke right here on June 1st, and we’ve been following the progress as Mansfield Speedway becomes the latest “racetrack revival”.

Tifft has been keeping racefans up to date on the revival through his social media channels and has been posting in-depth videos to his YouTube channel.
What We Know Now
We know that Mansfield Speedway will open in the Spring of 2026 and will host more than just circle track racing. Events Tifft has discussed include racing, drifting, monster trucks, go karts and more. The 4/10 mile oval track will remain dirt atleast for a few years as the cost is reported to be $2.5 Million to pave the oval. Mansfield Speedway won’t race weekly in 2026 and that is not part of the current plan. Touring Series as well as local racing classes will make up a good portion of the schedule but the track will host more than just racing events with car shows, movie nights and more coming to the facility.
The track is currently undergoing a restoration as the oval became overgrown with vegetation since it was last raced on in 2019. A final grade will be coming shortly and a decision on the banking at each end will also be made in the near future. Tifft mentioned he would like to bring the banking up to 20 degrees (an increase over the 16 degree banking when the track was paved from 1999-2016).

A complete cleaning of the grandstands and the addition of safety fencing along the ends that were removed in 2020 by former owner Grant Milliron is now complete and the suites are in the process of being cleaned and renovated to hosts guests at the track in 2026.

Tifft has been on a hiring spree the last few weeks, hiring Brad McCown as General Manager. McCown, the former promoter at Atomic Speedway has taken on the project and is managing several projects, including clean-up, reconstruction and facility management. Robbie Devore has been hired as the voice of Mansfield Speedway and has taken on an ambassador role for the track as the revival continues. Devore is sure to bring a new sound to the facility in 2026.
