The race fans have spoken and voted the Buckeye Figure 8 Nationals as the “Outstanding Event” of 2024, beating out several high profile events including Fremont Speedway’s Jim Ford Classic, the IMCA SuperNationals in Boone, IA and the Trophy Cup at California’s Tulare Thunderbowl.

“It’s a huge honor for the Buckeye Figure 8 Nationals to be the Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Outstanding Event for 2024, that just means the 2025 Buckeye Figure 8 Nationals will be that much bigger, better and I’m excited to bring it to our fans once again” said Randy Maggio, Jr. Promoter at Painesville Speedway.  “Painesville Speedway has a rich history of figure 8 racing. We call Painesville “The World’s Toughest Battleground” and events like the Buckeye Figure 8 Nationals are what brings that to life for us” Maggio continued.

The Buckeye Figure 8 Nationals, which will return to Painesville Speedway on May 16th and 17th.  If you haven’t been to the Buckeye FIgure 8 Nationals in the past, this is one event you won’t want to miss.  The “Outlaw” Figure 8 cars with their huge sideboards are a sight to see; part Late Model, part Modified and part armoured tank these cars are designed for the Figure 8.

Painesville Speedway hosts an autograph session down on the Figure 8 prior to the event that lets race fans young and ageless touch the racecars and meet the drivers before they go to battle at “The Battleground”.  New for 2025, the Buckeye Figure 8 Nationals will add a Friday program to the schedule, details will be released shortly.

The Auto-Racing Promoter of the Year, commonly referred to as “the ARPY” is the highest honor any track promoter can receive. To-date, there have been 47 recipients, which have been awarded as part of the Racing Promotion Monthly (RPM) Workshops.

The Painesville Speedway remains committed to offering Fast & Affordable Family Fun!  More information including gate times and ticket prices can be found at NEOhioRacing.com.
