For the first time this season, all five classes took on Orrville’s Historic Oval with a huge display of fireworks, thanks to Doug Drown and crew, just past night fall as each feature winner took home trophies thanks to O’Reilly’s Auto Parts as employees of the Hill International Truck Company were in attendance. In the Pine Tree Towing & Recovery Sprint feature, Strasburg’s Henry Malcuit grabbed the lead as Trey Jacobs would keep the pressure on as Chris Myers, Danny Mumaw and Seth Sabo were close behind in a race for third. With five laps to go, Jacobs dropped from the action and then two laps later, Mumaw would break a left front wheel to end his night. On the restart, Malcuit and his Sugarcreek Cartage, McIntosh Oil and Red Malcuit Inc. #70 would pull away as Sabo edged past Myers for second but ran out of laps trying to catch Malcuit. Jacob Begenwald and Rayce Jacobs filled out the top five.

J.R Gentry and Kyle Moore tossed the lead back and forth in the opening laps of the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Model main. Mansfield’s Moore would put the McKenzie Concrete, Kepling Flooring and Team Midwest Paint #1* in the lead for good on lap 8. Several cautions would keep the field bunched together for most of the race and on a lap 21 restart, Gentry would stop in turn one, giving up second place and putting Doug Drown in second as Caiden Black was now in third. Neither could mount a challenge on Moore and with the win, he has a guaranteed spot in the upcoming Summer Nationals on Sunday, July 12. Drown and Black would finish second and third as Ryan Markham recovered from an early caution to take fourth as Larry Bellman pocketed fifth.

Following the fireworks display, the Canton Glass House Super Stocks took to the track and Rocky Kugel of Calcutta would set the pace with Braden Tucke in hot pursuit until lap 13 when mechanical woes put him out of the race. Brandon Craver would move into second but could not challenge Kugel and his Myers Service Center, Well’s Investment Properties and Kozar Excavating #0. Jose Marsh worked his way into a third place finish with Ryan Top and Matt Hensel rounding out the top five.

Mikey Wilson and Michael Altobelli dueled back and forth for the lead at the start of the Flynn’s Tire & Auto Modified feature as Mansfield’s Kyle Moore powered his way to third from his fifth starting spot. A red flag came out at the halfway mark for David Bodkins and on the restart, Moore quickly zipped past Wilson and Altobelli, who would pull off with three laps to go, and take the Shortstop, United Concrete and Joyride Transport #21d to the Summit Racing Victory Circle. Wilson would win the race for second over Arp as Took Wiles secured fourth ahead of Michael Amick.

For all fifteen laps of the Joyride Transport Sport Compact feature, it was a two car battle for the win as Jeromesville’s Kyle Petit had David Potter on his rear bumper the whole race as Potter tried every trick in the book but never could overtake the Down and Dirty Cleaning Services, Friendly Wholesale and Hardridge Restoration #23p of Petit. Peyton Davis, Bryan Baker and Jacob Syx filled in the top five.

Next Saturday night the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association will add to the Pine Tree Towing & Recovery Sprint along with the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models, the Flynn’s Tire & Auto Modifieds, the Canton Glass House Super Stock and the Joyride Transport Sport Compacts as gates will open at 3 pm and racing at 7 pm.
