Grand National Rules Posted for Lorain/Sandusky Alliance

(SANDUSKY, OH) Sandusky Speedway and Lorain Raceway Park announced the 2025-2028 Rules Package for the Grand National division, formerly known as Pure Stocks.

We caught up with Sandusky Speedway’s Rich Lushes this afternoon to hear his thoughts on the release of the rules package. “I feel like the rule package for the 2025 Grand Nationals is extremely similar to what everyone ran in 2024 with just a lot of clarification to make the rules tighter and racing better.” Lushes said. “The next step is enforcing these rules each week”. Lushes continued. Lushes is no stranger to strict rules as a two time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship winning Crew Chief and former track official during his family’s tenure as owners of Barberton Speedway (now Norton Raceway Park).

Lorain Raceway Park’s Randy Maggio, Jr. seemed excited about the alliance between the two tracks. “Working with Rich and Kevin this offseason has been a breeze” Maggio said of the two tracks working together. “Rich has brought a great, new insight into local short track racing in the past few months and has taken the bull by the horns with these combined rule packages” continued Maggio.

2025 will be the 75th Anniversary season for Sandusky Speedway, a milestone that will be celebrated all season long at the 1/2 mile. The season will start early, as is tradition, with The Hangover Race on January 1st, 2025.
