In a post on the Portsmouth Raceway Park Facebook page today, PRP officials have announced they will not open the track for the 2025 season.
“We at Portsmouth Raceway Park want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. After 34 years with the best co workers fans and drivers, we have decided not to open in the 2025 season. We will see what the future holds at a later date. Thank you everyone for all your kindness and support over the years”
Portsmouth Raceway Park has been a staple on the dirt schedules for years, hosting the Dirt Track World Championship as recently as 2022 when Garrett Smith became the youngest winner in the event’s history at 19 years old. The Dirt Track World Championship moved to Eldora Speedway in 2023. The track was not featured on the 2024 Ohio Sprint Speedweek schedule run by FAST on Dirt and was absent from the 2025 All Star Circuit of Champions Schedule announced yesterday.
