
With only four races into the 2025 season, The Painesville Speedway crowned Midseason Champions, a traditional The Battleground that goes back decades. Joining the Battleground Six Pack Divisions, the Street Stocks took on the ⅕ mile as a tune up for the Ohio Wheelman Series invading on July 12th.
Earl Goldy rolled the high side and picked up the 25-lap Street Stock Feature Win, Joe Coursen (2nd), Eddy Poderzay (3rd), Michael Henderson (4th) and Dominic Cicconetti (5th) completed the top five. Henderson picked up the Fast Dash victory with Noah Davis winning the Heat Race.

Scott Skufca returned to action the Outlaw Beer Chargers in a big way winning the 25 lap Feature event over Joshua Brown (2nd), Vinny Cicconetti (3rd), David Abramczyk (4th), and Mike Taylor (5th) completed the top five. Brown and Cicconetti scored Heat Race victories. Vinny Cicconetti locked up the Mid-Season Championship in the Outlaw Beer Chargers.

The Habco Tool & Development Warriors saw Gavin Elmore score his second feature win of the 2025 season with Jason Sharer (2nd), Kerek Ball (3rd), Sean Davis, Jr (4th) and Magen March (5th) completing the top five finishers. Elmore and Davis, Jr. picked up the Heat Race wins. Gavin Elmore locked up the Habco Tool & Development Warriors Mid-Season Championship.

Leland Scheel continued his perfect season in the Scooter’s Dawg House Rising Stars. Scheel now has four straight Feature wins in four starts. Scheel locked up the Scooter’s Dawg House Rising Stars Mid-Season Championship.

MJ Reed kept up his winning ways in the Hometown Slice Pizza Co. Figure 8 Ironmen, taking the Feature Win over Kenny Bender, Jr. (2nd), Lou Hill, Jr. (3rd), Ryan Turner (4th) and Chuck Jones (5th). Turner won the Fast Dash with Reed taking the Heat Race win. Reed took the Hometown Slice Pizza Co. Figure 8 Ironmen Midseason Championship.

Lyle Mattson took the Feature Win in the Habco Tool Old School Figure 8 over Robert Wormald (2nd), Charles Herrmann (3rd), JD Hribar (4th) and Taylor Bock (5th). Robert Wormald held off a late charge from Lyle Mattson to become the Midseason Championship for the Habco Tool Old School Figure 8. Hirbar scored the Heat Race victory.

JD Hribar won the R&Z Auto Recycling Compact Figure 8 holding off Mikey Oldenburgh (2nd), Chris Leland (3rd), Autumn Merril (4th) and Jon Jon Yeckley (5th). Leland picked up the Heat Race win while Mikey Oldenburgh took the R&Z Auto Recycling Compact Figure 8 Mid-Season Championship.

Next up for Painesville Speedway; a DOUBLEHEADER weekend July 11th and 12th with the Ohio Pro Compacts headline Bike Night on Friday and the Ohio Wheelman Series taking to “The Battleground” on Saturday July 12th for their King of Ohio Mini Series.
