MANSFIELD, OH — The roar of 800-horsepower engines and the thrill of high-stakes dirt racing are coming back to North Central Ohio.
Mansfield Speedway has officially announced that the World of Outlaws Late Models will return to the legendary half-mile dirt oval on June 4th and 5th, 2027, for the second running of the highly anticipated “57 Special.”
A Massive Payout Returns

Following the massive success of the speedway’s reopening in 2026 under the ownership of former NASCAR driver Matt Tifft, the 57 Special quickly established itself as one of the most lucrative events on the dirt racing calendar. The event’s name pays homage to presenting sponsor B’laster—the Cleveland, Ohio-based penetrant company founded in 1957.
If the inaugural event is any indication, fans and drivers can expect another monumental weekend. The 2026 edition featured an advertised total purse of over $293,000, capped off by a staggering $57,000-to-win finale that drew the best drivers in the country, including powerhouses like Bobby Pierce, Nick Hoffman, and Tim McCreadie. Local philanthropists, the Niss Family, donated to the purse making both nights $100,000 to win, two of the biggest paydays on the schedule.
A Rebuilt Track Ready for Battle

Drivers returning for the 2027 57 Special will be met with a heavily upgraded racing surface. After the World of Outlaws visited in May 2026, track owner Matt Tifft and his crew undertook a massive rebuild of the dirt surface to better withstand the immense pressure, torque, and wear generated by the violent 800-horsepower late models.
With the track dialed in and the surface fortified, the 2027 edition promises even closer, side-by-side racing as drivers sling dirt and slide through the corners chasing one of Ohio dirt racing’s biggest checks.

Ticketing and camping information for the 2027 57 Special will be released on the official Mansfield Speedway website in the coming months. With grandstands selling out at the 2026 event, fans are encouraged to secure their general admission tickets early to lock in the best views of the action.
