The roar of 410 Winged Sprint Cars is set to shake the clay at Attica Raceway Park on Thursday, May 14th, as the historic dirt oval hosts the highly anticipated John Bores 20th Anniversary Race. This milestone event promises to be one of the premier highlights of the spring racing calendar in Northern Ohio.
Honoring the legacy of longtime track promoter John Bores, the event brings massive stakes to the tight, high-banked track. Drivers will be laying it all on the line for an incredible $20,000 top prize. The financial incentive doesn’t stop at the winner’s circle, as just taking the green flag in the A-Main guarantees a hefty $1,200 to start.
This blockbuster purse is certain to draw a star-studded field, pitting our local Friday night heroes against traveling regional heavyweights. Drivers expected to compete in the high-stakes event include Cap Henry, Bryce Lucius, Cale Thomas, and Zeth Sabo. These heavy hitters will join many other Attica regulars, along with a strong contingent of All Star Circuit of Champions competitors, all hungry for the winner’s check and the prestige of capturing the 20th Anniversary trophy.

Adding even more fuel to the fire, Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park have teamed up to offer a massive $10,000 bonus to any driver who can win both of the weekend’s premier events. Should a driver pull off the weekend sweep, their total winner’s share would skyrocket to an incredible $50,000.
“Fremont and Attica work very closely together to help the local fans and race teams and this is an opportunity to continue that relationship that will bring excitement to the teams and fans,” said Justin Liskai, Director of Operations for Attica Raceway Park. For both tracks, it’s not only about the first-place prize; both are paying out massive purses throughout the feature events, with both A-mains paying out over $70,000. “It’s a great way to not only reward the winners but the loyal race teams that support both tracks every week,” added Rich Farmer, Fremont Speedway Promoter.

Attica has long been a proving ground for the nation’s top sprint car talent, and Thursday night’s showdown will demand both raw horsepower and absolute precision behind the wheel. Fans know exactly what to expect: relentless speed, aggressive slide jobs, and the unmatched thrill of 410 sprint car racing under the Midwest lights. With no outside wall at Attica—just a berm and a hill going down if a driver steps over the edge—the margin for error will be razor-thin as competitors battle for the massive payday.

Mark your calendars and pack the grandstands. When the green flag drops on May 14th, the dirt will fly, and one driver will etch their name into Attica Raceway Park history.
