For years, the silence at the corner of Crall Road and State Route 13 was a somber reminder of a legendary facility waiting for its next chapter. That silence was shattered this weekend in the most explosive way possible.
Under a cloudy Ohio sky, Mansfield Speedway officially signaled its return to the national spotlight, drawing a capacity crowd that proved the region’s appetite for motorsports is stronger than ever.
A Vision Realized: The Tifft Era Begins

The night began not with the roar of engines, but with a moment of profound reflection. Owner Matt Tifft took to the microphone to deliver a welcome message that resonated deeply with the thousands in attendance. Tifft, whose vision and investment rescued the facility from the brink of becoming another “Lost Speedway,” spoke with visible emotion about the journey to reopen the gates. The crowd responded in kind, rising for a thunderous standing ovation that acknowledged the heart and soul poured into the track’s resurrection.
The Pulse of the Night: High-Energy Entertainment

While the trucks were the stars, the energy of the event was sustained by a master of the microphone. Announcer Robbie Devore was the heartbeat of the evening, keeping the crowd informed and entertained with relentless enthusiasm.

Whether he was hyping up a wheelie contest or keeping the momentum high during downtime for broken-down trucks, Devore’s high energy ensured there was never a dull moment. His ability to keep the fans involved, from the front row to the top of the grandstands, turned a simple show into an immersive experience.
Next-Level Technology and Fan Interaction

The renovation efforts were headlined by the track’s massive new 70-by-40-foot Jumbotron, which brought a level of production value never before felt in Mansfield. The screen did more than just show replays; it became the centerpiece of fan interaction.
- Fan Selfies: Throughout the night, spectators saw their own faces light up the sky as social media posts and live selfies were broadcast across the screen.
- Crowd Engagement: The Jumbotron powered massive “cheer sections,” pitting different areas of the grandstands against each other in a battle of volume.
- Visual Clarity: The sheer scale of the display ensured that even the most technical “poppers” and moonwalks were visible in high definition, making the 10,000-pound machines feel larger than life.
High-Flying Chaos: The Main Event

The lineup featured a heavy-hitting roster of world-class talent, including the legendary Raminator, the fan-favorite Jester, and the high-energy Kraken.
- The Racing: Side-by-side drags saw trucks clearing tabletop jumps with surprising agility.
- Freestyle: The segment the crowd came for did not disappoint. Kraken brought the house down with a massive donut, while Excaliber used its raw power to clear a stack of school buses, sending a shockwave through the grandstands.
Looking Ahead: The Dirt Returns

The reopening wasn’t just about the spectacle; it was a proof of concept for the track’s “Fast Affordable Fun” mantra. With a “Kids 10 & Under Free” policy, the stands were packed with families, many of whom were visiting the historic speedway for the very first time.
With the “Comeback Classic” now set for Friday, May 15, the focus shifts to the dirt-slinging action of the FAST 410 Sprints, and American Iron-Man Late Models. If this weekend was any indication, Mansfield Speedway isn’t just “back”—it’s setting a new standard for motorsports entertainment in the Midwest.
