As the checkered flag dropped on the final weekend of October, Lorain Raceway Park officially closed the book on its 2026 campaign with an unforgettable Halloween Festival of Speed Cavalcade.
For a facility that hosted just three racing events all season, the sheer quality of the weekend proved that “The County” is firing on all cylinders and building massive momentum for the future.

Pristine Grounds and Sharp Upgrades
If you walked through the gates this October, you would have hard a hard time believing the track had only hosted a trio of race weekends this year. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of track management, staff, and crews, the entire facility looked immaculate. From the freshly manicured grounds to the crisp paint and polished midway, “The County” beamed with pride, offering racers and fans a top-tier short-track atmosphere.
A major highlight of the off-track improvements making its presence felt was the brand-new spotter stand in Turn 2. Built to give teams and spotters a crystal-clear, optimal vantage point of the action, the new structure drew rave reviews all weekend. Not only did it provide spotters and fans alike with a great view of the 3/8 mile oval, it also stands as a tangible symbol of ongoing reinvestment into the property.

Celebrating Local Legends
Amidst the fierce, multi-division wheel-to-wheel battles and Halloween-themed excitement, the weekend also paused to honor the rich history of local speedway culture. Fans and competitors alike took time to celebrate the latest Lorain County Motorsports Hall of Fame induction, paying tribute to the drivers, builders, and pioneers whose blood, sweat, and tears laid the foundation for short-track racing in the area. Recognizing these legends right in front of a packed grandstand added a deeply emotional and proud layer to an already festive weekend.

A Strong Finish to a Special Season
With solid car counts across a stacked lineup of divisions—ranging from Late Models and Modifieds to the Street Stocks and Legends Cars—the Halloween Festival of Speed delivered everything race fans crave.
Lorain Raceway Park may have kept its schedule selective this year with only three marquee events, but they made every single one count. With facility upgrades like the Turn 2 spotter stand, a pristine property, and a deep respect for its history, “The County” proved that short-track racing in Northeast Ohio isn’t just surviving—it’s thriving.

The Future
During Sunday’s program, it was announces that Lorain Raceway Park will be racing in 2027 with a “every other week” program. Fans were asked to stay up to date on the track’s social media channels for further updates. If the promotions and improvements continue, Lorain Raceway Park has a bright future.
