
Andrew (AJ) McCall has been racing for six years across three classes of stock cars at Northeast Ohio’s short tracks/ Moving from Chargers/Renegade Stocks to the Pure Stocks (now Grand Nationals) and even a half season in Street Stocks, McCall is an experience driver at just 26 years old.
How did you get involved in racing?
My family has been racing at Lorain since the 60s with my Grandpa.
How long have you been racing? Why did you choose the number you race?
6 years racing. My dad was 32 when I first started also ran 32. He got back into it so rightfully I had to change numbers. Couldn’t think of anything so just flopped to 23.
What’s your favorite race track you’ve raced on?
Lorain

What kind of hobbies outside of the racecar do you have?
Working and racing that’s it.
Did you have any racing heroes growing up?
All of my family
What’s your favorite racing memory?
After my uncle beat COVID, it was his first time at the track and I managed to get my first feature win that night with him there.

What is your greatest accomplishment in racing?
One points championship two second places.
Anyone you want to thank for getting you here?
My entire family. Without them it wouldn’t be possible. There are many times I’ll get stuck at work and they’ll do whatever to get the cars ready. And all of my amazing sponsors.
Do you have a regular job, and if so what do you do?
Local 18 mechanic / operator

What are your long term goals in racing?
Just to go out and have fun maybe run for championship in 26 since I have to miss some of the races this year
Do you have any music/songs you like to listen to on raceday?
Most of the time it’ll be jelly roll radio on the radio in the trailer

Dale Earnhardt
