From Bob Pockrass via X: Matt Tifft has bought Mansfield (Ohio) Speedway. It is a dirt track at the moment. Needs work but he hopes to have some racing and non-racing events on the 180-acre property, likely starting in 2026.

The facility will need alot of work to get up and running, including a nearly 100% rebuild of the race track. Fencing has been removed all the way around the track, along with the outside and inside walls from the middle of the backstretch to turn 4.

The ends of the main grandstand structure were taken down in 2020, moved to the Shelby High School stadium. The light poles and caution lights were removed in 2022, the lights went to Dragway 42. The SAFER Barriers, required for NASCAR events were sold along with the catch fencing to Nelson’s Ledges Raceway.

Bringing back Mansfield to it’s former glory is no small task but Matt Tifft has the resources to make it happen. Tifft, a former NASCAR Cup Series owner, sold his ownership of a NASCAR Cup Series Charter in 2023 to Spire Motorsports.

UPDATE 6/1/25 5:40PM EST :

A new X account for the speedway has been created. The track will tentatively be called “Mansfield Speedway” and calls itself Ohio’s home for mayhem, horsepower, and unforgettable days & nights. Founded by
