Get to Know Chase Wiggins

JFoose November 8, 2025
20251005-IMG_2836

Chase Wiggins had his breakout season in 2025, the son of 1999 Lorain County Speedway Late Model Champion Jeremie Wiggins. Chase got his feet wet in racing during 2024 and went right to the top in 2025. Winning is in the Wiggins DNA, and Chase carried on that tradition in 2025, winning the Sandusky-Lorain Grand National Championship, as well as both tracks’ championships. The field was chasing Chase more often than not as the #22 was in Victory Lane more than any other driver in 2025.

How did you get involved in racing?

I grew up watching my father race and win in anything with 4 wheels.

How long have you been racing?  Why did you choose the number you race?

I started in 2024, with 2025 being my first full year. I chose number 22 because it was my grandfather’s (Bill Wiggins) very first number.

What’s your favorite race track you’ve raced on?

Sandusky Speedway and Lorain Raceway Park

What kind of hobbies outside of the racecar do you have?

Weightlifting/Crossfit

Do you have a workout plan that you follow to keep yourself in top shape for race day?

During the winter, when we’re not working on cars nonstop, I try to hit the gym 4–5 days a week.

Did you have any racing heroes growing up?

Jeremie Wiggins, Matt Marlowe, and Jim Blagg

What’s your favorite racing memory?

Watching my Father qualify and finish in the top 10 at the Street Stock Nationals in Bristol.

What is your greatest accomplishment in racing?

Rolling into Lorain for the first time and left with my first feature win. Great way to start 2025.

Do you have any raceday rituals or superstitions?

No race day rituals/superstitions. I believe if I’m good enough, and I make the right decisions I will win.

Anyone you want to thank for getting you here?

Huge thanks to Jeremie Wiggins and Dave McCafferty — none of this would be possible without their knowledge and support. Shoutout to Bobby, Dan, Greg, and Cody for always having my back at the track. Monster Motors, Perfection Fabricators, Justice Auto Body, Lubrication Supply, ECO Mechanical, and of course my Mom for keeping us fed every weekend.

Do you have a regular job, and if so what do you do?

Aerial Lineman

What are your long term goals in racing?

Race to have fun and stay competitive. Because let’s be real, this sport isn’t paying my bills!
