
Kurt Hennings began his racing career in 1984 and looks to add to a Hall of Fame worthy career once again in 2025. Hennings will pilot the #17 Modified at Lorain Raceway Park and if his schedule permits will travel around a bit as well.
How did you get involved in racing?
My dad raced at Painesville, Cloverleaf and Lorain.
How long have you been racing? Why did you choose the number you race?
41 years, The #17 was my dad’s, so I ran it at Cloverleaf. Painesville Speedway assigned me the #40 that I used for many years.
What’s your favorite race track you’ve raced on?
Bristol Motor Speedway

What kind of hobbies outside of the racecar do you have?
Spending time with my wife, Diana, and our two grandkids I also have a garage full of hot rods.
Did you have any racing heroes growing up?
Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt
What’s your favorite racing memory?
Winning the Cavalcade Championship Race at Cloverleaf in 1984, Winning a Midseason Championship at Painesville.

Do you have any racers that you are close friends with?
Dan Larocco & Brad Copen.
Do you have any raceday rituals or superstitions?
Have the car ready at home before leaving. Win races in the garage.
What are your plans for 2025?

What is your greatest accomplishment in racing?
Going to Bristol in 2024.
